Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale were in town for the UK Premiere of High School Muiscal 3 in London on Tuesday Evening and there was one hell of a turnout for this film with the crowd going well back into the side streets of Leicester Square.

Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale appeared on the BBC Morning News and were interviewed with supporting clips from the film and although we are not the greatest fans of musicals here, this does look to be a well produced and choreographed film and with the backing of Walt Disney it has a bit of heavyweight muscle behind it and has to be taken seriously.

This film looks like a modern day “Grease” but aimed at the kids and teen market, and if it is as succesful as that film this could be around for some time to come. Very strong American theme running through this film. Box office predictions look to be rock solid with record numbers of pre bookings for the film release which is set to go UK nationwide on 22 October 08 . The film has that certain energy about it and has caused a lot of media interest in the last few days as much we would say as “Sex and the City” and the film release is still some weeks away.

Rating based on clips we’ve seen and the trailer we give this a 3 and a half stars out of 5. It was received well and impressed us here and we are not musical fans and we wouldn’t waste any time writing all this if we didn’t think this was a winner! This film looks set to give “Quantum of Solace” and Angelina Jolie in Changeling a run for their money both highly rated films, but as these other two films are aimed at entirely different markets with Quantum of Solace having broader market appeal, late October looks to be a buzzy time for films!

High School Musical 3: Senior Year will be the third installment in Disney’s High School Musical franchise. It is scheduled for a theatrical release in the United States on October 24 and in the UK on October 22. Kenny Ortega returns as director and choreographer, as do all six primary actors.

Now high school seniors, Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez are facing the prospect of being separated from each other as they go off in different directions when graduating from East High. Joined by the rest of their Wildcat friends, including Sharpay Evans, Ryan Evans, Chad Danforth, and Taylor McKessie they stage an elaborate spring musical reflecting their experiences, hopes and fears about the future.
