Leona Lewis Performs Live at Hackney Empire Gig & Interview!

It’s been a while since Leona has been seen performing live with her “Run” performance on X Factor and also the opening of the Massive Wesfield Shopping Centre in London also last year being the more memorable ones, and solid performances they were!

She performed at the Hackney Empire on Monday night in London as this is being hailed as her first gig after winning the coveted X Factor Show way back in 2006. A big but smaller venue, one that has that more intimate feel to it than the massive stadiums and arena’s you normally see big name stars at.

A brave move on her part after the fan punch at the recent book signing and hats off to her for that. Simon Cowell was predictably there and Leona sang a 9 song set which included her trademark “Bleeding Love” and her cover of the Snow Patrol song “Run”. A smattering of songs off her new album were thrown into the mix including “Brave” and “I Got You”.

Very important venue this one for Leona, she’s born and raised in Hackney, probably has very fond memories of going toÂ watch performers at The Hackney Empire now the situation is reversed, she’s the performer being watched. A bit of a homecoming for her as she has been in LA for the last few months. Home and roots are very important things in life!

This lady has a tremendous amount of vocal talent. Apparently she sounded as good as her studio recordings. That we can believe, and if her X Factor performance of Run last year is anything to go by, something we rated very highly indeed, she is a true diva amongst diva’s!
