Marina and the Diamonds “The Family Jewels” Album Sampler and Interview!

Marina and the Diamonds is coming up as a hot search on this site probably amongst UK visitors, the half Greek and half Welsh songstress and film star/model looks to match has her album out on 22 February and we get the feeling that people want to find more about this hotly tipped “The New Kate Bush” for 2010 and if there is an album sampler out there, that would really put the icing on the cake. We thought we’d better take a closer look. Album sampler below with title of track changing at top right!

She’s recently been interviewed in the UK by The Sun’s SFTW’s Jacqui Swift and she also appeared on the UK TV Channel on T4 and appeared on a short interview with Miquita Oliver that lasts about 3 minutes but gives you a pretty good idea of what she’s like at foot of this article.

1. She reckons “I knew I’d be famous – there was never a Plan B” and she knew this since age 9!
2. Her father who is Greek was into classical Greek music and choral church singing and was a big influence.
3. The Album is called “The Family Jewels” in honour of her parents
4. She finds it hard to get close to people in relationships despite her outgoing and bubbly manner
5. The Diamonds in Marina and the Diamonds are her fans as she is not a band
6. Her mother is Welsh and they are renowned as a race for their singing voices eg Tom Jones, Duffy, Shirley Bassey.
7. Her surname Diamandis is greek for Diamonds.
