Keira Knightley Dazzles in “Misanthrope” West End Debut!

Keira Knightley was in the West End last night with her debut performance in the new theatre production at the comedy Theatre in London called “The Misanthrope”

The official first night is not until next week but 800 theatre goers turned out to see the pre-version and unaminously the audience gave Keira the two thumbs up saying she was dazzling on stage.

The show according to the Evening Standard took Â£1millionÂ in ticket sales in four days prior to the first performance which was put down to the Keira factor and presence.

Strangely in the “The Misanthrope” Keira who has an incredibly British accent is playing an American with a corresponding strong American accent and the audience thought she pulled it off with ease, much to everyone’s surprise.

This is a good move and also good news for Keira and she joins the recent trend of Hollywood stars to tread the boards including Cate Blanchett who has her own theatre company, Nicole Kidman, Sienna Miller and Katie Holmes over on Broadway.

Critics have yet to have their say on her performance, if she pleases them as well, Â it looks like in a word “Keira’s Back!”

The official opening ofÂ “The Misanthrope” is on 17 December.
