Mariah Carey turns on Xmas lights at Westfield, London

With a 6pm billing for Thurdsay 19 November for the switch on of the Christmas lights at the massive Westfield Shopping Centre at Shepherds Bush, London qeues were forming fast around lunchtime as yours truly was there passing through at that time but had other things on so did not attend!

As everybody knows Mariah Carey is a diva amongst divas, and as everybody also knows what does a diva do when you’ve got thousands of fans waiting patiently for the 6pm Mariah Xmas light turn on …….. you turn up late. We are not talking 10 or 20 minutes here, it was a full hour before the Mariah entourage made its appearance at Westfield but she probably realises as do her fans that somethings are worth waiting for.

So why was she late apart from the diva reason? Apparently she was having a few glasses of champagne at The Dorchester just up the road and must have lost track of the time?

Grey/black were the colours of choice for her outfit and a silver wand was her tool to signal that she has given her diva permission to have the Westfield Christmas lights turned on and not a second earlier.

Afterwards Mariah attended a Â£200,000 party held at the Jalouse Nightclub in Mayfair where she turned up in a Â£300,000 ice white customised Rolls Royce phantom. Of course this event did not go without the diva demands where she asked for club decorations to include white roses, white drapes and vanilla and strawberry scented candles. Doesn’t get any more specific than that!

So what do we think about all this diva carry on? When you are this talented and have been around as long as she has we can safely say she has earned her diva demand status and then some!
