Ellie Goulding, a UK rising star born in Hereford but now London based as is always the way, has some superior vocal talent and is coming up as one of the potential hot tips for 2010 and we are still in the back end of 2009.

Her debut single “Under The Sheets” is about obsessive love and looking for the perfect man.

She is being compared to La Roux made up of singer Elly Jackson and Producer Ben Langmail.

She was raised in Powy’s Wales and because of the Welsh factor she’s also being compared to other Welsh singers such as Duffy and Cerys Matthews of Catatonia fame.

Her vocals are being hailed as somewhere in between Bjork and Kate Bush, so at the higher end of the vocal spectrum. Her influences are broad ranging including Pearl Jam, Beyonce, Imogen Heap and Tracy Chapman.

Verdict: Fresh Sounding and different style to whats out there at present, vocally very good … question is will it grab the downloaders? this remains to be seen, but this oozes talent and deserves to do well. Ellie Goulding Tag/Cat now on this blog!
