Cate Blanchett of  “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” fame has been given the go ahead for her new film about  Lady Edwina Mountbatten’s alleged affair with India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru called “Indian Summer”. It  has been given the green light by the Indian Authorities who were keen to portray Nehru in a favourable light and asked to see the full script before access to locations and filming could be given the go ahead.

Authenticity was the key issue with this film and the Indian officials were keen to make sure that Hollywood kept to the original details although some scenes will be ommitted of a more graphic nature according to Wenn. The film is due for release some time in 2011.
