Noppawan Lertcheewakarn the 17 year old of Thailand beat the Top Seeded player from France the 16 year old Kristina Mladenovic 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 to claim the Girls (Junior) title victory on Day 12 of the Wimbledon Championships 2009 and this is her first major title win.

Interestingly Noppawan Lertcheewakarn finished as the runner up to the 2008 Girls (Junior) Champion Laura Robson, the Brit player who played her first senior match and also unfortnately this year suffered back problems in the junior championship and lost her match in the third round.

The Thai player started off slowly losing in the first set with her French opponent rattling off serves hitting 120mph+ with Noppawan only managing serves of 85mph. The second set saw a rapid change in fortunes which she managed to win and the third was even more convinicing which manged to seal her victory and claim the title.

Definetly one to keep an eye on for the rest of the season and one to watch if she decides to take this to the senior level. A Noppawan Lertcheewakarn tag is now on this site!
