Gwen Stefani and No Doubt Live Rockefeller Plaza, New York

Gwen Stefani and No Doubt have reformed after 5 years and they performed live at the big crowd turnout at the Rockefeller Plaza in New York yesterday May 1st and this was broadcast live on the NBC’s Today Show with plenty of close up shots of Gwen singing live. They will be starting their tour very soon (see previos post).

They performed a 3 song set with the first being one of their earlier offerings entitled Spiderwebs followed by one of their most famous songs “Don’t Speak” and they closed with a cover of Talk Talks “It’s My Life”. They are due to tour this summer and are due to appear in theÂ Bamboozle Music Festival in the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey.Â and will also be working on a new album which will be the follow up to the 2001 offering “Rocksteady”.

Performance wise everything was really focused on Gwen and she was under pressure, as the backup will be consistent even after along break. Mixed reception from You Tubers. She did OK, presence wise she is there, you never lose that, and she looked the biz,Â but vocally it just lacked that sparkle, kick and bite from the earlier days. A good tour workout will more than likely help, but either way they are back, it will be interesting to see where they go from here!
