Courtney Love and the Elle Style Awards 2009, London

Now here’s a headline that will get people talking. The Elle Style Awards for 2009 were held last night in London in the Big Sky Studios Venue and some of the awards have thrown up a few surprises and others are probably expected. The event was hosted by Alexa Chung. All awards were arrived at by votes from Elle Readers.

The headline of the year is Courtney Love repeat Courtney Love has won outright this years Elle Style Award and been named “Woman of the Year”. She was up against names such as Freida Pinto and Sienna Miller but there was no stopping Courtney from winning this award.

In true rebellious style the ex Hole singerÂ was caught lighting up outside after the event next to a no smoking sign and caused security chaos and had to be sorted out, and her little black dress number didn’t leave much to the imagination when viewed from the side, come to think of it from the front as well! She was spotted after the event heading to the Groucho Private Club and emerged some time later at around 2am looking like she may have had just quite a few.

Sienna Miller won an award as the Elle Style Icon and said she was looking forward to showvasing her new fashion range at London Fashion week. Frieda Pinto won the Actress of the Year Award. Alexa Chung won TV Star of the Year and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was awarded model of the Year.

The next big event that the celeb A listers have their eye on is London Fashion Week and of course The Oscars.
